WHO
IS TO BLAME FOR WHAT IS HAPPENING IN LEBANON?
Yes, I know, I
shall undoubtedly hear howls of complaints and denials from nearly everybody.
But I persist and sign, because I believe that, in the same way that
individuals seek personal improvement through education and by acquiring the
right habits, so should nations, if they want to progress, study and admit
their own weaknesses and attempt to overcome them.
When one reads
the local and the international press one always notices that the
responsibility for any bad event occurring in any country is always attributed
to some individuals, groups of individuals, or political parties. Seldom is the
Nation pointed out as the guilty party.
The result of
that national denial is that everyone tends to put the blame on somebody else,
and no one is ready to admit that the error may have arisen from a national defect
that ought to be treated appropriately.
This is the
reason behind the attached presentation. Conscientious readers, I am sure, will
come to see the truth in it. I hope that they will conclude that something must
be done about it, on a nationwide basis, and educate an entire population,
rather than putting the blame on a specific social class or the opposing
political party.
